Deleron Flotation Systems (Novafloat®) Story

This is a unique new floating dock system comprised of HDPE float modules and conventional stringers and decking to form a floating platform or docking system. The system is constructed using HDPE pipe laying crosswise to the float and welded to HDPE sheet which then both caps the ends and forms the side wall of the float. The sheer wall which is formed by the side wall is instrumental to the strength of the float. Deleron float modules can be made in virtually any size and to accommodate virtually any wave environment.

What makes this system so unique?

All other float systems are constructed using some sort of flotation pontoon which supports a decking structure. The connection of the decking structure to the pontoon is always subject to stresses because of wave activity and ultimately will weaken or break. With the Deleron system, the float module itself is the structural component and wave stresses are absorbed into this monolithic module.

The stringers and decking are merely topping to the float. When the wave pattern is small enough, the modules can be spread out to make the total system very cost effective.

Another feature unique to Deleron's Flotation System is that without changing the basic design, a float can be made as light or as heavy duty as required. No other float manufacturer can make that claim.

In extreme wave conditions, floats can be built with double tubes (one below the other) where the bottom tube is filled with water and becomes passive ballast for the float.
